Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how "The Catholic Audio Bible" (the "App") handles information. We built this App to bring the Douay-Rheims translation of the Bible to you in audio form, and we've designed it with your privacy as a priority from the start.

Summary

The Catholic Audio Bible does not require an account and does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email address, or location. To help us keep the App working reliably and to guide which books and chapters we produce next, we collect limited, non-identifying technical and usage data as described below.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not:

Information We Do Collect

Crash and Diagnostic Data

If the App crashes or encounters an error, we automatically collect technical diagnostic information to help us identify and fix the problem. This may include the type of crash, the device model, operating system version, and app version. This data is not linked to your name or any other identifying information and is used solely to improve app stability.

Usage and Engagement Data

We collect aggregate, non-identifying data about how the App is used, such as which books and chapters are played, session length, and whether playback is completed. This data is not tied to your identity and is used only to decide which Scripture content to prioritize producing next and to improve the listening experience. It cannot be used to identify you personally.

Aggregate Device Information

We may collect general, non-identifying information about the type of device and operating system version you use, to help us decide which devices and OS versions to support and test against.

Audio Content Delivery

Audio narration files may be downloaded to your device from cloud storage so you can listen to and play back Scripture readings. These downloads are used solely to deliver app content (the Bible audio itself) and do not involve collecting or transmitting any information about you personally.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to process the limited data described above, strictly to operate and improve the App:

These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using this data for their own purposes. Diagnostic and usage data is retained for a limited period (up to 90 days) and then automatically deleted.

Third-Party App Stores

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. These platforms may collect standard technical information (such as device type, app version, and crash diagnostics) as part of their own app distribution services, governed by their own privacy policies:

This data collection, if any, occurs at the platform level and is outside the App's control.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personally identifying information from anyone, including children under 13. The limited diagnostic and usage data described above is anonymous and aggregate, and is not used to identify any individual, including children.

Data Security

The limited data we collect is transmitted securely (encrypted in transit) to our service providers and is not linked to your identity. We do not store personal data on any server, so there is no personal data at risk of being exposed through the App itself.

Changes to This Policy

If our data practices change in the future (for example, if we introduce optional accounts or analytics), we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
